If you are the parent or guardian of a child under the age of 6 who has severe food allergies, you are faced with two concerns: making a safe home environment and by
making others aware of potential food dangers. We have strategies and tools to help.

SAFE and NOT SAFE Labels for groceries or
home-prepared foods
.

Great for those return trips from the food markets. Just label each product as you put it away and you're done. Relieves the worry about when other caretakers are with your child.

DO NOT FEED or FOODALLERGY Stickers designed for one-time use.

Large enough to be easily seen when in the company of others. Placing a sticker on the child's back makes the child unable to remove it.

DO NOT FEED Buttons with Bulldog clips.

Buttons come with self-adhesive clips. Good for clipping onto outerwear, carriers and strollers, kid's carryall.

DO NOT FEED Wristbands made of Tyvek®,
bands can easily be cut to size.

Like the wristbands at popular events, these wristbands self adhere and most often require scissors to remove.

DO NOT FEED Embroidered Patches iron-on to existing clothing

More permanent and versatile, these iron-on patches become part of your child's existing wardrobe. Now you aren't limited to T-shirts.

Restaurant Cards to give to food servers

Take the worry out of ordering in restaurants. Alert the Chef to an allergy with these small, handy cards.

Learning of severe food allergies in your child can be very frightening. Some 3-5 million children in the US have food allergies, at least 8% under the age of 6. That's more than one child in 25. Fortunately, it seems most children will start to outgrow their allergies between 3 and 6 years of age, but not all.* There are 8 common foods that may trigger reactions, some can be fatal and some are never outgrown.**

At about a year old, children can be tested for allergies. Today even breast fed babies are often given formula…which can contain allergens. Nuts and peanut oils are in SO MANY foods, not to mention eggs and milk. Even simple foods may be made in facilities which handle nuts.

Putting stickers on groceries as they are unpacked or on meals prepared for freezing ALERTS EVERYONE, parents, grandparents, relatives, friends, neighbors, babysitters, at a glance what is safe and what isn’t.***

And you simply can't be there to protect your child all the time. That's when LABELING YOUR CHILD with a Food Restrictions-Do Not Feed sticker or button may be the best way to protect your child from well-meaning but uninformed strangers.
